Time of Darkness

"I hope this works.." She muttered. Her hands carefully moving and glowing slightly green.
"Nar, tai thar... see'll tela" Nara cast the spell on Arcan and watched to see if anything happened.

Arcan's eye flickered off.
Now the only sign that he was alive at all was the very slight movement of his breathing.
He really was white...

"I guess it did not work..." Nara said.
"Well, I tried... but I haven't used it for a long time..."

Arcan's natural eye opened slowly.
It's iris was green, but what should have been white war red.
"This is Arcan, now... Red-eye dies." He said.
It focused on Nara.
"Is it not ironic, that this is the situation now?"
He sounded quite calm now.

"Your alive, Thank... what is so Ironic about this Situation?" Nara asked.
She flicked a small Frostball between the fingers of her left hand.

"Well... it would have been." Arcan let his eye close again. "About fifty years ago...?"

"I see. Oh, Arcan, I should of mentained this before, but that spell will make you virtually immune to shadow spells while making you quite weak to fire spells for one day" Nara said.

"Beats being dead." He said.

"Good point..." Nara muttered.
"Arcan, I want to tell you some things when you are ready, about a person called Naralda Dusksorrow, and by 'things' I mean everything"

Arcan opened his eye.
"Okay..."

"Can we move somewhere more comfortable, like the edge of the marsh over there, under those trees?" She asked.

"Yeah..." Arcan discovered that he'd been lying on a large stone.
He wobbled as he attempted to stand.

Nara muttered something in elvish.
"So... Can you walk?"

Arcan took a shaky step, but staggered.

"Do you need help?" Nara asked, still playing with the Frostball in her left hand.

"No," Arcan said, before falling over with a yelp.

Nara coughed Slightly.
"Well, if you are sure you are fine and that just happened because fate is rising against you" Nara said.

Arcan coughed and brushed some dirt off himself.
"Well..."

Nara had already reached the edge of the marsh and her purple eyes studied Arcan from a distance before she sat down under the tree.
"I wonder..." She muttered to herself.

Arcan fell over a few more times before arriving near her.
"Ugh."

"Did you have fun with your 'trip'?" She asked sarcastically.

Arcan shrugged.
"It... was... trippy."

Nara sighed.
"I forgot undead lacked a sense of Humour"

"I never had a sense of humor." Arcan reminded her with a grin.

Nara just shook her head.
"Actually, your sense of humor is when you do the exactly wrong thing... and succeed in doing it" She said, "Why don't you sit down?"
