Time of Darkness

Naralda stopped suddenly and listened.
"Hmm, perhaps..." She continued on and to a locked door.
"So, crystal is aligned which must mean there is a creature somewhere in this room..."

Arcan looked at the dead things curiously.

One of the creatures got up and croaked.
"Gar gah. Gar gah" It hissed before a frost ball hit in then hit it again.
"Gryugh vgva" It fell on the floor.

Arcan blinked at it.

The door hissed open.
"That... " She looked up into the room the door opened into and ran into it.
"A staterius!" She hissed.
"Ten of them!" She looked at the giant statues around the room.

Arcan wondered why Nara spoke to herself so much.
He rarely spoke out loud at all, but never to himself.

One of the statues lit up and began to move. It detached itself from its holder.
It drew its massive stone sword and strangely enough, didn't notice Nara first, but Arcan.
Its sword slashed into the air and a magical projectile in the shape of a half moon flew at him.

Arcan backed down against a wall, raising a small shield.

Nara looked at him for a moment then sighed.
She moved behind the statarius while it threw light spells from its blade at Arcan.
Her own frostspell hammered into its power Crystal . The Statarius tried turning, revealing a Large Crystal.

Arcan stood there for a moment, his mind somewhere else.

The small creature mumbled something, trying to get attention. After a few minutes of being ignored, the creature unfurled its long brown wings and tried to take off. However he didn't succeed.

Nara threw a frostball that knocked that statue off balance, she rushed behind it and threw another one into its power crystal.

Arcan noticed the strange thing on the floor nearby, then looked back at the battle further on.
He gave a huffing sound.

Nara threw another two at the crystal and it shattered into shards. The staterius made a creaking sound. Then the entire thing collasped.

"Hmm." Arcan scanned the thing with his gaze.

The creature finally gained height, flying near the top of the caves, looking for an exit. A small crack perhaps? Alas the creature didn't find anything. Scared he rested on a nearby ledge, shivering with fright.

Naralda lifted one of the objects from the fallen Staterius.
"Marvellous, shame I could recover the crystal, that would of helped me understand these relics better..." She said bitterly.
Her purple eyes turned and rested on Arcan.
"I see you also have a interest in Dwama Artifacts?"
She dropped the piece of the Staterius and climbed out of the rubble.

Arcan looked up at Deza's strange flappy creature then looked at Nara.
"Eh... sort of."

Nara sighed and looked away.
She walked over to one of the Staterius Statues.
"Arcan... tell me... why did you throw a spell at me?..."
She took a water container and drank its contents.

"I am unstable. I do not know why." Arcan said.

"I see..." She muttered.
She touched the Staterius statue.
"Interesting... if only there was more time"

Arcan crossed his arms.
"So what the in the five hells is going on?"

"Good question..."
"DemonInvasion, quitefast, unexpectedcomplicationbooktakenDemonswanttomakeportals" She said, extremely fast.
"Ohcoursemycontactwouldbequiteeffectivehere..."

Arcan blinked.
"Of course." He said.

"Oh... sorry... did... I speak too fast then? Thinking does that" Nara said.
"Eh..."
"..."
Nara went over to a crystal.

"Okay, I'm sorry..." Arcan sighed. "Why is that so easy to say to you?"
