Time of Darkness

Narsara growled something.
Arcan looked at her.
"Untrue." He said.
"Very true."
"Not so,"
"You lie."
"Again, your view is very flawed." Arcan added, frowning.
Narsara eyed Nara.
"Hello."

Naralda continued to utter incantents for afew seconds.
"You never cease to disappoint me Duskshadow..." She muttered.
Her gaze turned to her shortsword hanging by her side then to Narsara.
"You have come to Talk I assume? Then Talk."

Narsara got out a knife.
"I have some unfinished business here."
Arcan sighed.

"Which is...?" Naralda asked.
"Well, make it quick, because I am busy..." She began the spell again.

Narsara looked at her, shrugged, then spoke;
"Someone lit the beacon at the Mathica Fortress."
Arcan blinked.
"But we aren't at war."
Narsara laughed.
"You are now." She said.
Arcan un-dug his claws.

Naralda finished her spell, then talked silently to herself then decided to listen to the others conversation.

"And what do you mean 'we' anyway?" Narsara continued.
"I said that?" Arcan asked, his eye sharpening. He guessed he'd simply come accustomed to her being around as an ally.
He shrugged.
"With who do you think I am at war with?" Arcan asked her, making sure not to make the same error.
Narsara cast Naralda a glance.
"So hard to guess...?" She laughed. "You... really do not know?"
Arcan blinked, quizzically. A chill worked it's way through him like a swarm of maggots.

Naralda obviously had got bored of their argueing and fell asleep silently

The demon gave a message to the larger one, bowed then left.
"Excellent... I'll dispatch Daedan to the tomb immediately"

Arcan saw Nara and sighed.
Why are you here...?
Why does this creature live, to see you now?
A spike of pain shot through him, making him flinch.
If Narsara had looked concerned, it evaporated in a moment.
Something gave a shriek nearby.

Naralda woke up quickly.
"Huh, What?"

"That's a shame. I'd hoped we would have more time." Narsara said, getting her knife out, swinging in round and bringing it to meet the closest contact, that being Arcan.
He gave a garbled screech and tried to dive back, only to fall over.
"You always were weak," Narsara said, flatly.

Nara got up and drew out a short sword which glowed Moon-light blue.
"Stay away from him"

"Says you, of all people!" Narsara jeered.
She shrugged.
"Oh well. I have spiders."
And, as if to prove a point, a giant green one - green slime oozing from it's jaws - landed between the two of them.
She returned her attention to Arcan, grabbing the material near his neck and pulling the struggling creature up closer to her.

Naralda walked back slightly, raising the sword protectively.
"A... spider... is that... all...?"

"She's called Saerah." She said.

Naralda moved behind a tree and disappeared behind it.
"Well... better... think... of... a... plan..."
She looked up at the tree and gasped at the lowest branch and tried climbing up the tree.

The arachnid's many mandibles snapped at the tree, as it reared up and patted at the trunk with one of it's front feet.

Arcan scowled up at Narsara.
"That isn't going to work. I'm already dead..." He squirmed, half irritated and half consumed with a sort or terror that he felt in these situations.

Naralda reached the middle of the tree and hid among the leaves.
"I wish I had my bow, then I could of shot that thing" She muttered angrily.

The spider stuck it's face around the tree and snapped at Nara, hissing and spraying venom.

"Well, something interesting is bound to happen." Narsara said, pulling Arcan a little closer.
He looked around her.
"I may explode?" He sighed.

Nara was not around the tree.
"I... must be crazy.... but... will have to do this..." She drew out her dagger and jumped, trying to land on the spider, she missed and fell on the floor behind it and groaned.

The spider turned and drooled at her.
It's many beady eyes locked onto her as it attacked.

Arcan was about to make another attempt to stall Narsara, failed.
Screamed.

Nara tried to rush off the floor out of the spider's attack but fell over.
"I knew jumping out of the tree was a bad idea..."

The spider tried to bite Nara.

Nara rolled but felt the teeth sinking into her right arm. She screamed.
"You will... not..." She began, before falling unconscious from the pain of the fall and the bite.

Ditto to Arcan.

Narsara looked over at Nara.
"Unfortunate."

The demon walked over to the Sanacatar stone and cast a spell, opening a portal. Three small demons entered through the portal.
"Recover the Artifact quickly..." The Demonic counciller said.
